Painting – Expressive

My painting and drawing started by being exactingly representational. My initial training involved reproducing medieval decoration and illumination. Since then my study of the human form, especially whilst moving and dancing, has lead me to see beauty in the immediate, unworried line. I think we capture the true essence of an individual in precise and simple marks. All life paintings shown are either life size or 1m x 1.5 metres
